Tanis Howell

Counsellor

I offer short-term or long-term counselling to people from a variety of backgrounds, including students and young adults. My aim is to provide a warm, safe and confidential environment in which clients feel comfortable to talk about their lives. Sessions can be in-person or online.

Coming to counselling can be daunting, and finding the right counsellor is crucial.  Building trust and forging a relationship is essential and I am committed to every client - the focus is very much on the individual.

I offer a mix and match style of counselling using a variety of techniques and work with different approaches (in counselling terms this is called an integrative person-centred approach).  I feel it is important to recognise that we are all different and therefore we all have different needs – what works for one person doesn’t necessarily work for another.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), operating to its strict ethical framework. Most of my work is with clients in Private Practice but, I also work with the University of Cambridge Colleges as a Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor, and a number of EAP providers throughout the UK.
