Sharon Smith
Trainee Child and Adolescent Psychotherapeutic Counsellor
I am in my final year of the Postgraduate Diploma in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapeutic Counselling at Cambridge University. My training is integrative and arts-based, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches including psychodynamic, attachment, and person-centred theories to support emotional wellbeing.
Sometimes exploring emotional experiences and talking about thoughts and feelings can be difficult so I offer the option of using creative arts to explore and express emotions safely and at my client’s own pace.
I believe a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship is central to therapy and meaningful change. I aim to create an empathic non-judgemental space where my clients feel listened to and supported.
I am a trainee member of the UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy) and work within their ethical guidelines.
