Sarah Boucher

Counsellor

Are you feeling overwhelmed by work or study, caught in cycles of stress or perfectionism, or struggling to find balance in your personal or professional life?

I’m a BACP registered counsellor with a special interest in workplace and academic wellbeing, and I offer a calm, confidential space to help you make sense of what’s going on for you.

You may be experiencing burnout, anxiety, impostor syndrome, or difficulties navigating career or life transitions. Perhaps you're facing challenges in a high-pressure setting or unsure of your next move.

I will support you in exploring these experiences and help you find clarity, develop a sense of agency and build your confidence in moving forward.

How I Work

Our first session is an opportunity for us to talk about what’s brought you to counselling and the issues you’d like to focus on. The therapeutic relationship we build is central to the work we do together, and I strive to create an open, collaborative environment where you can feel at ease to speak honestly and explore any difficult emotions, at a pace that feels right for you.

In ongoing sessions, I’ll help you make sense of the thoughts, feelings, and patterns that may be holding you back, whilst supporting you to connect with your strengths and inner resources.

Together, we’ll work towards practical and meaningful changes, which might mean developing coping strategies, setting boundaries or helping instil healthier habits, so that you can better function and thrive in your daily life.

My approach is integrative, drawing from different therapeutic models and my own insights from diverse work settings, to meet your individual needs.

With time to reflect, we all have the capacity to develop a better understanding of ourselves, of what holds us back and what makes us act or react in certain ways. Counselling can provide the space to do just that and even small shifts in mindset can spark lasting transformation.

My background and experience

Prior to becoming a counsellor, I worked in publishing and education, which gave me exposure and insights into a variety of work cultures and organisational dynamics.

My recent counselling work has found me working with Anglia Ruskin University’s Counselling & Wellbeing Service, supporting both staff and students with a wide range of mental health challenges.

Now in private practice, I support adults online or in-person with personal and work-related challenges, offering both short- and long-term counselling.
