Specialist in neurodivergent support for children and young people
About me
I specialise in supporting neurodivergent children and young people. My approach is neuroaffirming, collaborative and strengths-based. I don’t believe in trying to ‘fix’ or change who a young person is, instead I aim to understand each child as an individual, recognising both the challenges they face and the unique strengths they bring.
Neurodivergent children and young people can often feel misunderstood and overwhelmed. They may struggle to ‘fit-in’, question themselves, lose confidence, and feel anxious about school, friendships, and the future. My hope is that they leave our time together with a stronger understanding of themselves, greater confidence in who they are, and the reassurance that they do not need to become someone else in order to thrive.
How I work
I tailor my approach to each young person taking time to understand how they think, communicate, and connect. Sessions may involve talking, creative activities, games, music or shared interests.
I also work collaboratively with parents, carers and schools, helping to build a shared understanding of each young person's needs and strengths so that they feel supported across the different parts of their lives.
Qualifications
My background combines psychological research with specialist clinical training. I hold a DPhil (PhD) in Experimental Psychology from the University of Oxford, specialist postgraduate training in therapeutic work with autistic children and young people with learning disabilities, and I am a qualified Children's Wellbeing Practitioner. As well as my private practise I also support neurodivergent children in educational settings. Above all, I believe every young person deserves to feel understood, valued and hopeful about their future.
