Hettie Malcomson

Psychotherapeutic Counsellor

Feeling anxious, overwhelmed or stuck? Struggling with relationships or big life questions?

I offer a confidential, supportive space where we can work collaboratively, creatively and without judgement to explore at your own pace whatever feels important to you.

My aim is not to analyse your past or diagnose you, but to accompany you in a process of awareness and understanding with the aim of opening up new possibilities for how you experience yourself, your relationships and your life.

I am a qualified Gestalt psychotherapeutic counsellor, registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and abide by their ethical framework. I have worked with clients from many communities through organisations including Mind and The Gestalt Centre London. Since 2026, I have been part of Queer Therapy Practice, a collective of queer gestalt therapists.

I welcome clients from all backgrounds and aim to create an affirming and anti-oppressive space for everyone. I have particular experience working with academics and people exploring questions around identity, gender and sexuality.

Alongside my counselling practice, I am also a sociologist of music (PhD, University of Cambridge) and have composed music for film and theatre.

My background in music and ethnographic research shapes how I listen closely and without judgement to how people experience their lives, relationships and identities.

I work in-person in Cambridge, London and Mexico City, as well as online. I offer counselling in English and Spanish.

If you are curious about whether therapy might be helpful, you are welcome to get in touch to arrange an initial online 20-minute conversation.

Fees:

From £75 per 50-minute session. Some concessionary spaces available.
