Ashleigh Cartwright

Trainee Counselling Psychologist and Psychotherapist

I am currently completing my doctoral training at the Metanoia Institute. My way of working is grounded in warmth, collaboration, and a genuine respect for each person’s experiences. I aim to offer a steady, non‑judgemental space where you can talk openly about whatever feels important, at a pace that feels manageable for you.

My clinical experience comes from working in NHS mental health services and third‑sector community settings, supporting adults with a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties. This has included anxiety, low mood, stress, relationship patterns, identity concerns, and the impact of early experiences on present‑day wellbeing. These contexts have shaped my interest in relational and psychodynamic approaches, and in helping people understand the patterns that feel difficult to shift.

In our work together, we’ll explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences with care and curiosity. My role is to provide a safe, confidential environment where you can reflect, develop insight, strengthen coping, and work towards meaningful change. Therapy is collaborative, we make sense of things together and shape the direction of the work based on what matters most to you.

I am a trainee member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and adhere to their code of ethics.
