Integrative Psychotherapist

I am a UKCP Accredited Integrative Psychotherapist working with adults of all ages and offer therapy on a short or long-term basis depending on your aims and needs. My integrative training enables me to use a range of different therapeutic approaches choosing those I feel will best support what you need. For over ten years I’ve worked as a therapist in a variety of settings, including a local counselling organisation, the University of Cambridge Staff Counselling Centre, and an arts based charity.

Psychotherapy is at heart a collaborative process, held within the frame of a relationship based on trust, offering a compassionate, non-judgemental space for you to share and process emotional difficulties and experiences. It’s an opportunity to give yourself time and space to think about how things are for you. Sometimes it’s hard to put your finger on what brings you to therapy, but things feel stuck or somehow not quite right.

Working together we’ll explore what is of concern to you, reflecting on what emerges as we talk, helping you try to make sense and meaning of what you’re experiencing.  This gradual process of working through can lead to new perspectives and a better self-understanding, including a greater sense of your patterns of behaviour, your relationship with yourself, others, and the world, and how this came to be, so opening up possibilities for change.

If you’d like to find out more, the next step would be to meet for an initial appointment. This appointment is an opportunity for you to let me know what has brought you to therapy and what you would like to get out of it. In this meeting, you can also get a sense of how I work, and for us to see whether I am the right person to give you the support you need.
